What Is Skin Tightening?

Face is the most prominent feature of a person reflecting on the overall well-being leads to Ageing, fine lines, wrinkles, age spots. Some people tend to accept their changes while others are motivated to prevent them and age improve upon them.

There is nothing more important than being happy and feeling good about yourself hence there has been a significant advancement and researches are going on to help the patients seek the improvements they desire

1. Ultherapy

The latest techniques in non-surgical aesthetic treatments offer many options to rejuvenate your look without the down time of surgery.

Ultherapy is the only non- Invasive treatment which has been US FDA approved for lifting and tightening the skin on the forehead, face, chin, neck and now in the upper chest areas ( décolletage). This technique uses the highly focused energy of Ultrasound to stimulate tightening of deeper layers of the skin. People can see an appreciable difference at one month but the best results are seen after 3 months.

The treatment consists of first assessing the areas of the face and neck which need tightening. The areas are then cleaned with a degreasing substance. Ultrasound gel is then applied to the area and the skin thickness is assessed for each area. Ideally we need to tighten the deep as well as superficial layer of the skin so as to achieve the best outcomes.

The areas are then marked and the energy to be delivered Is marked and an appropriate probe is taken for the area to be treated.

2. Vampire Facelift

The newest trend in people wanting a non-surgical improvement to their face albeit temporary (lasts for a few months) is the Vampire Face lift.

This involves a combination of using Hyaluronic acid fillers to add volume to the face and at the same time adding the growth factors from patients own blood (Thus term Vampire). Using a cold centrifuge and well researched procedure, platelets are isolated from the blood. These are then activated to cause the release of growth factors. These growth factors are normally required to stimulate healing in injured tissue.

Healing continues for a few days and brings about rejuvenation and glow to the face due to new collagen formation and more blood in the skin.
The effect lasts from a few months to a year after which further maintenance may be required.

3. Fillers and Botulinum Toxin:

Injectable fillers are designed to replace volume lost by your face due to aging. US FDA approved Injectable fillers, like Juvederm or Restylane, can be used for everything from lip augmentation to wrinkle treatment to scar removal.

Dermal fillers are a naturally-derived or synthetic material that is directly injected into skin with the purpose of plumping that area to the point where the wrinkle, depression, or fold is gone. Depending on the type of filler, the effects can last anywhere from six months to two years.

Botulinum toxin has revolutionized the cosmetic industry. Because of the effectiveness of this injectable treatment at reducing the appearance of some wrinkles, people have come around to understanding the potential of nonsurgical facial rejuvenation.

4. Chemical Peels:

Chemical peels are a great complement to your general skin care routine. They basically speed up the natural process of shedding old skin and refreshing it with new skin. When we are younger, this process is faster, and helps ensure a younger appearance, but as we age this process slows and increases the amount of sun and environmental damage that shows in our skin.
